Aayu Well is a healthcare company based in Deer Park, Illinois. Our physician holds a Michigan medical license, and our care team sees adults across Michigan by video. We check your insurance before your first visit, handle prior authorization for brand-name GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy and Zepbound, and offer a self-pay plan if your plan will not cover them.
Check Your Coverage
You meet with a physician, not a questionnaire alone, and you keep the same care team through follow-up.
Coverage for weight-loss medication depends on your specific plan. Here is what public sources say, and what we check for you.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network ended coverage of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss, such as Wegovy and Zepbound, for fully insured large group commercial members starting January 1, 2025, or at the group's renewal date. Self-funded employer groups that cover these drugs for weight loss may keep their own prior authorization criteria, so coverage depends on your employer's plan. (BCBSM provider alert, June 2024, updated July 2024)
Since January 1, 2026, Michigan Medicaid covers GLP-1 medications prescribed only to treat obesity under stricter prior authorization: the patient must be classified as morbidly obese, other clinically appropriate weight-loss treatments must have been tried and failed, and coverage is meant to avoid the need for bariatric surgery. Coverage for other uses, such as diabetes, did not change. (MDHHS letter L 25-73, December 2025)
We verify your benefits before your first visit, file the prior authorization, and handle appeals. If your plan will not cover brand-name medication, you can choose a self-pay plan instead.
We work with most PPO and POS plans, many employer-sponsored plans, select HMO plans with referral, plans with obesity or weight management benefits, and select Medicare Advantage plans. It depends on your plan. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan stopped covering these drugs for weight loss for fully insured large group members in 2025, while self-funded employer plans decide for themselves. Michigan Medicaid covers them for obesity only under strict criteria since January 1, 2026. We check your specific benefits before your first visit.
Yes. We submit it after your consultation and run it as a concierge service: the paperwork, the follow-up with your plan, and the appeal if your plan says no. How long it takes depends on your plan.
Our team appeals. If it is still denied, we talk through every alternative together, including a self-pay plan.
Self-pay plans start at $200 every 4 weeks, or $475 for 12 weeks. Compounded tirzepatide is $300 every 4 weeks.
